EA) Hello Iim Eila Adams and youive reached Naked News, the program with nothing to hide Weive got an information PACKED program for you today with a LOT of major news items to cover.First things first, breaking news out of Egypt where authorities have charged 75 people for their roles in that deadly soccer riot that happend just over a month ago. Senior anchor Victoria Sinclair has been following the latest developments and joins us now for the story. I don_t think anyone was surprised by this were they Vic? VS) Not at all Eila but ONE thing that DID surprise people was that Nine of the 75 charged are police officers. The charges vary from murder to negligence in connection to the deadly Port Said (sy-EED) riots that erupted on February first. According to the chief prosecutor_s office, the violence was planned ahead of time, with many fans bringing knives, sticks, and other weapons to the stadium. The riot started after the final whistle of a game between Port Said_s club and a team from Cairo. The home crowd stormed the field, attacking the visiting team_s fans and players. In the aftermath, police were widely accused of doing little to curb the violence. In other news today, British paper, The Guardian, has obtained thousands of emails purportedly from the private email account of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad (ba-SHAR al ah-SAHD). The documents show that Assad got advice from Iran on how to deal with the uprising in his country. The President was advised to use violent language in his public addresses and tout the country_s military prowess. In other exchanges, Assad jokes about promises he made for reform, and is given detailed information about the whereabouts of illegal western reporters working within Syrian borders. And a former Goldman Sachs executive resigned in spectacular fashion. Instead of handing his bosses a letter, Greg Smith opted to have his resignation letter published as an op-ed piece in the New York Times – and boy oh boy, did he ever GIVE it to his former colleagues. In his letter, Smith called the company toxic, and alleged that they callously ripped their clients off – clients he says that were referred to as Muppets. Goldman executives and spokespeople refuted these claims, but not before the piece went viral on the Internet.
